Terms of use
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Draft: the highlighted fields in square brackets must be filled in before publishing.
These terms govern the use of the Quadrat service provided by [Company legal name] ("Quadrat", "we"), including usequadrat.com, app.usequadrat.com and Quadrat Box. By using the service, the business using it (the "Customer") and its users accept these terms. If a separate agreement has been signed with the Customer, that agreement takes precedence. The Turkish version is the governing text.
01The service
Quadrat is a security assistant that watches the Customer’s existing cameras for commands the Customer writes in its own words, and sends a notification when something matches. The service consists of the Quadrat Box device installed on site, the cloud service and the customer dashboard.
The scope of the service, fees and delivery terms for Quadrat Box are set out in the order or agreement with the Customer.
02Accounts and security
- The Customer is responsible for keeping account details accurate and up to date.
- Users must keep their passwords secret and not share them. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
- The account owner is responsible for actions taken through the account by users it invites to the team.
- If you suspect unauthorized access, tell us at [email protected] right away.
03Camera data and the Customer’s responsibilities
For data about people in view of the cameras, the Customer is the data controller and Quadrat is the data processor acting on the Customer’s behalf and instructions. The Customer is therefore responsible for:
- having a valid legal ground for camera monitoring and AI analysis,
- informing employees, customers and visitors in view of the cameras, for example with signs at entrances and a full privacy notice,
- assessing whether choices such as turning on image recording, attaching photos to notifications and the retention period are lawful,
- responding to requests from people captured by the cameras.
The service providers Quadrat uses and the transfers abroad are described in our Privacy notice. Data processing terms between the parties are set out in a separate data processing agreement.
04Acceptable use
The service must not be used for:
- monitoring areas where people expect privacy, such as toilets or changing rooms, or any other unlawful monitoring,
- identifying people, or tracking specific individuals across cameras and over time,
- targeting or profiling people by characteristics such as race, ethnic origin, religion, beliefs, clothing, health or political opinion,
- connecting cameras the Customer is not authorized to use,
- reverse engineering the service, Quadrat Box or the software, trying to bypass security measures, or using the service in a way that disrupts it.
We may suspend or terminate the service if these rules are broken.
05Limits of AI
Quadrat’s detections rely on AI models and are probabilistic. This means:
- An event may be missed, or a false alarm may be raised for something that did not happen.
- Lighting, camera angle, image quality, power or internet outages can delay or prevent detections and notifications. If the internet goes down, the box keeps watching and queues events, but notifications cannot be sent until the connection is back.
- Notifications depend on third-party services such as Telegram and e-mail and can be affected by their outages.
Quadrat does not replace professional security services, alarm monitoring centers, or fire and emergency systems. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Türkiye). Decisions about the safety of people and property should not rely on Quadrat notifications alone.
06Availability and changes
We make reasonable efforts to provide the service without interruption or errors, but cannot guarantee it. Maintenance, updates or our infrastructure providers may cause interruptions. We may improve or change features of the service, and we will give advance notice of significant changes that adversely affect the Customer.
07Intellectual property
The Quadrat software, models, the software on Quadrat Box and the Quadrat brand belong to Quadrat; the Customer is granted only the right to use the service for the term of its agreement. Data from the Customer’s cameras and the commands the Customer writes belong to the Customer.
08Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Quadrat is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, or damages arising from an event not being detected or a notification being delayed. Quadrat’s total liability is limited to the fees the Customer paid to Quadrat in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence, or to liability that cannot be limited by law.
09Termination and data deletion
- The Customer may end the service under the terms of its agreement. Quadrat may suspend or end the service if these terms are seriously breached.
- Before termination, the Customer can export its event records, commands and camera list from the dashboard, and delete its records.
- When the agreement ends, the Customer’s data is deleted within [Post-termination deletion period].
- Quadrat Box is returned according to the order or agreement.
10Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of [Competent courts] have jurisdiction over disputes.
11Changes and contact
We may update these terms and will announce significant changes in the dashboard or by e-mail. Questions: [email protected]
